Kandilhane stands in a small Beyoğlu neighbourhood named after the lamp makers who once lit the slope down to the Bosphorus. We turned its six-storey 1892 building into a 34-room boutique hotel, keeping the original stone façade and cast-iron balconies.
During a four-year restoration we carefully preserved the stone façade, the hand-painted ceilings and the wooden staircase, and rebuilt the rooms with today’s comforts. The result: a home in the heart of the city yet far from its noise, where every guest is known by name.
